I began my renovation company ten years ago working with custom home builders doing interior and exterior home finishing. We have built a stable and strong client base by focusing on relationships and quality craftsmanship. I loved being involved with home renovation but I wanted to have a bigger role in the design aspect of homes. I have always been interested in sculpting, crafting, design and art but I felt trapped in home renovation, I was searching for a way to express my designs as a functional part of home building. Mere renovation and construction could not satiate my love of creation, design and function. This spurred me to create Concrete Cat, a company that will not compromise beauty and design for function but strives to combine these aspects in a perfect balance.

I have taken my concrete work to the next level by training with the man I view as the master of interior concrete Fu-Tung Cheng at his concrete design school in Berkeley California. This training helped solidify my knowledge of advanced form making techniques as well as mastering finishes. On top of these new skills, Fu-Tung passed along some essential knowledge relating to his unique design aesthetic. I hopes to help bring some of these fundamentals from the West Coast/Bay area and combine them with my own style, bringing new unique designs in concrete to Edmonton and Western Canada.

Over the last 3+ years of focusing solely on design and creation of concrete countertops and furniture I have seen a progressive change in the caliber of work being put by our studio. It has been a constant struggle striving to innovate in an industry full of copy cats. Through the research and development of new and improved forming, finishing and sealing processes we are the leader in top quality concrete furnishings in Western Canada. I can confidently say no other company has put in the time we have to design and research as well as the straight man hours building and installing clients projects.

We are excellent at what we do because we have put in more time than anyone else and worked on more projects than our competitors.
