take care
Your concrete work is sealed and waxed for protection against moisture and staining. Food preparation will not stain the concrete as long as the coating is maintained.
Daily Clean-up
Clean your countertops using mild soap (such as dish soap) and water. Oil, acids and food, spills should be removed as soon as possible as concrete is naturally porous. Do not use heavy abrasive, bleach based or ammoniated cleansers, as they will accelerate the deterioration of the sealant.
Long Term Care
Waxing your counter top once a year will maintain the luster for years to come. We recommend using a natural paste beeswax or similar food safe product. Sealer may be applied every 2–3 years, depending on usage.
Patina and Character
Concrete is not for everyone. To appreciate the true character of concrete one must also see the beauty that comes with aging. Hairline cracks may appear and shall not be considered a manufacturing defect, as they do not compromise structural integrity.
Expect occasional rings to appear from unknown liquids. Oils in particular can penetrate the surface if forced in from the weight of a glass or jar. The first stain is always the worst. Expect the wear of your counter to contribute to its unique patina and colour.
