FAQ
Our own secret high-performance concrete mix, fiber, colourful mineral pigments, and all of our love.
We cast and mold high-performing concrete with vibrant mineral pigments. Colour is added in the casting process and is integral to each piece. This means if you cut one of our objects in half, you would see the backing colour the whole way through.

We make every effort to display colours and textures as accurately as possible. Sometimes differences in your monitor settings or your colour display mean that what you see on your screen is representative only. Variation is the result of our unique patterning process. All our pieces are made by hand by our artisans, meaning that each piece is unique and one of a kind. This is how we like it and we hope that you do too.

Design objects that are timeless heirlooms. We create with a material that’s infinitely repairable and ages gracefully.
Closed loop water system. We reuse water in our closed loop polishing systems. Before water goes back into the sewer system its filters of all sediment and PH are balanced to meet local environmental guidelines for waste water.
We produce things in small batches which allows us to have very little waste and overage in our batching. Even when we do have excess wet concrete we always have smaller molds ready to receive excess concrete and minimize our waste.
Our small mixing containers are upcycled yogurt and sour cream containers.
The bulk of our packaging is cardboard and paper which are recyclable and sometimes of recycled materials. The packing peanuts we use are corn based and completely biodegradable.
Small bits of waste concrete can be reused in the making of new larger objects.
When a mold reaches the end of its lifecycle we shred it up and use the material as filler in new molds.
Concrete is infinitely repairable, every city on the planet has an example of some ancient concrete structure that’s been continuously repaired over the years. Our concrete is no different, we can repair any damage so that your beloved piece can function for generations to come.
We’re always looking for ways to respect and cherish our environment.

CARE FAQs
Show your concrete some love.
Concrete develops character over time. Concrete is strong and difficult to destroy, but like ceramic, can chip or break if dropped. Concrete will react to your touch.
For daily maintenance wash by hand with a gentle cleanser and warm water. Like natural stones concrete is porous. Liquid may absorb but will not seep through.
HOW TO CARE 1-2-3
- Before use with food hand-wash concrete thoroughly with warm soapy water. You may see some amount of residual colour left over from the polishing process wash off at this time.
- Towel and air dry concrete (2-3 hours air dry).
- Coat sculpture in a thin layer of Lucky Cat Wax and let sit for 15 minutes. With a dry cloth, buff off wax.
Our wax is a mixture of beeswax, carnauba wax and mineral oil. So natural, so safe that we also use it as a lip balm, hair pomade/moustache wax and hand salve!
We recommend that heavily used bowls with liquids be waxed once a week or until piece becomes completely saturated with wax.
Food usage and waxing changes the colour of a piece. Waxing is how we get some of the colours that we achieve and on some colours it is the lack of waxing. If you want your sculpture to maintain the exact colour indefinitely we do not recommend food usage.

Our sculptures love to be embraced; waxing is an opportunity for owners to bond with their piece. If your sculpture is displayed in the elements or being used for serving food in which case it would be seeing frequent washings, treat with our Lucky Cat Wax to maintain.
